St. Raphael's Fiesta at OSR

The feast of the archangels was celebrated by the christiandom last September 29. Purok Olaer/Olaer Swimming Resort honored our patron saint, St. Raphael de Archangel, by spearheading different festive activities and at the same time holding thanksgiving for the precious legacy left to us by our dear Lola Iyay and Lolo Pidok. The two folks were devotees of the healer archangel and that devotion has been passed on to the different generations of the whole Olaer clan.

The day started with a holy mass officiated by a Passionist priest.
This picture was taken right after the mass only
for the reason that the author was late due to a pressing commitment

What followed were activities that brought wide smiles to the fiesta revelers and picnickers alike.
Jose Divinagracia School band gave color and vibrance to our fiesta.

Several competitions were held such as the Lumba Langoy, Lumba Baktas, etc. . .
Lumba Baktas participants including moi. Please don't ask anymore if I won or not :-)
(I'll be writing a separate post about this soon!)

An anti-fungal company provided free services and medication to interested individuals.
very helpful, indeed, specially for those who need medical attention

By the way, all those who trooped to the resort during that day were given free entrance fee access and free usage of cottages. This is our way of thanking our customers!

Jollibee's appearance was a blast!
kids, young people and young at heart alike were delighted with the
popular mascot's personal appearance

Also provided for free by the resort management were Jollibee packed lunch good for three hundred (300) people. . .

This is part of the crowd who lined up for the free goodies. . .

Later in the night, the grand Olaer Got Singing Talent was showcased
(it was so exciting and a post solely for this topic is coming up soon :-) )
My niece Chummy and my apo, Choi. . . the Mom is the active president of Purok Olaer and the one responsible for the very successful St. Raphael fiesta celebration

Good food won't be absent during feasts like this!
light moment with Apopong Bgy. Captain Rogelio Pacquiao and
Olaer Purok President, Aura Kharizma C. Aujero

There's more to come, folks! Please watch out for it. . .

To Be Young and Happy

These pics of my daughters, Samantha and Jasmine, made me reminisce the time when I was still young and doing the same thing.

Enjoying the cool waters of Olaer Resort with dear cousins. We used to do this several decades ago.

Nothing beats the feeling of being young and happy! :-)

Tattoo Too for Self Expression

The author chanced upon these two young people doing body art
using Henna Tattoo one sunny afternoon at Olaer Swimming Resor
t

There are many ways of expressing one's self. Henna, ancient art, is now slowly becoming a popular method of self-expression. I learned that these tattoos do not stay permanently on the body as it fade easily in due time. So if you're interested in adding art to your body, but do not want something that will last forever, a henna tattoo may be just what you’re looking for. You can choose from different intricate designs that could suit your personality. I only have this advice to young people who are interested to indulge in henna tattoo, be sure to do some research and find out if applying a henna tattoo is right for you.

How about you, guys. . . interested of getting tattooed?

Shaken, Not Stirred

I am not fond of drinking alcoholic drinks. I only drink for three reasons; when I'm happy, sad and when it's for free. These three reasons were at hand when I witnessed the bartending and wine mixing competitions of South Ranex students held at Olaer Swimming Resort over the weekend. :-)

I got to witness preparation of drinks such as Cuba Libre, Campari Orange, El Presidente, Mimosa, Silver Bronx, Garibaldi, South Seas, Mocha Slush, Golden Fizz, Daquiri and a lot, lot more. Would you believe, they also prepared drinks tagged as Swimming Pool and Sex on the Beach :-)

'luv this one, a mixture of gin and blue curacao, it's called Dunk! You'll feel like dunking your head on the pool after a round of this drink. .

There are lot of drinks also prepared the way James Bond 007 loved it most. And I also had the chance of tasting it all.

Students and onlookers pre occupied with their stuff. . .

a picture of happy wine tasters! With this, I vowed never to drink again if I want to take good pictures. . . :-)

Our Dear Olaer Swimming Resort

This is how Olaer Swimming Resort would look like on mags as envisioned by the author.

My dear hubby enjoying the cool waters of OSR.
I have long wanted to write about this property of ours. It's just that I find it so self-serving to be doing such. Nevertheless, it is my ardent desire to share with you what we have to offer there. The place is now undergoing renovations for the better. We aim to offer the best services and facilities to our dear clientele. I will be posting here soon pics of the new OSR!
As a little backgrounder, this 12 hectare property was bought by our grandparents (the late PEDRO ROMERO OLAER and MARIA NECESARIO OLAER) during the 60's with Php800.00 and 1 carabao. I am an offspring of the youngest among the six siblings of our grandparents. The business had been operated by the family ever since it started its operation many, many years ago.
Now, we are introducing new innovations in the management and operation of the resort. It is now under the management of Olaer Development Corporation (of which I am a member of the Board). I am proud to say that the new management is composed of young people with brilliant minds who are into continuous quest for what's best for this legacy left behind by our dear grandparents. We are just starting this saga for the benefit of our younger generation but we are optimistic that what we aim for will be realized if we will have the zest to go for it.
More about OSR in my upcoming posts!
